What Is TMS Therapy?
Think of TMS as physical therapy for your brain. Just as a physiotherapist uses targeted techniques to restore movement and reduce pain, TMS uses gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate specific areas of the brain involved in mood, behaviour, and cognitive function. These pulses help restore healthy brain activity without surgery, sedation, or medication.TMS stands for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. Transcranial simply means through the skull. The technology is similar to what is used in an MRI machine, but focused on targeted areas of the brain. It has been in clinical use for over 20 years and is approved by both Health Canada and the FDA.
Not all TMS is the Same — The CTT Difference
Traditional TMS
- Reaches only 1 to 2 cm deep
- Surface stimulation only
- Cannot access deeper emotional centres
- Limited for PTSD and complex conditions
BrainsWay Deep TMS at CTT
- Penetrates 4 to 6 cm into the brain
- 2 to 3 times deeper reach
- Reaches limbic and subcortical regions
- Patented H Coil, effective for PTSD and OCD

Accelerated TMS — A Faster Path to Recovery
For people who can’t commit to several weeks of daily visits, or who simply want results sooner, CTT offers accelerated TMS — an evidence-based protocol that condenses a full course into multiple sessions per day over a much shorter window. It’s an option very few clinics in Ontario provide, and it makes Deep TMS accessible to people whose schedules or circumstances rule out the standard timeline.
What truly sets us apart is how we target and measure your treatment. Every course at CTT begins with qEEG brain mapping — a non-invasive scan that identifies the exact regions driving your symptoms — so your TMS is aimed at the areas most important for your recovery, not a one-size-fits-all protocol. We then repeat the qEEG at the end of your course, giving you a clear, objective picture of how your brain has changed and improved. It’s progress you can actually see, not just feel.
And TMS at CTT isn’t limited to depression. As noted above, we treat a range of conditions — including anxious depression, OCD, PTSD, and more — all guided by the same psychiatrist-led, qEEG-informed approach.
Why Choose CTT Wellness for TMS?

BrainsWay Deep TMS Technology
CTT uses BrainsWay Deep TMS, which penetrates 4 to 6 cm into the brain compared to the standard 1 to 2 cm. Broader reach. More precise targeting. Stronger clinical results.

Psychiatrist-led and qEEG-guided
Every TMS course at CTT is overseen by a psychiatrist and guided by qEEG brain mapping. CTT is one of only two private clinics in Ontario offering FDA-cleared qEEG alongside TMS treatment.

Integrated Care, Not Just a Machine
TMS at CTT is delivered within a full interdisciplinary model. Complementary CBT is integrated into every treatment course, so your brain and your thinking are both supported throughout your recovery.
